Meet Urva

Hello, I’m Urva, an artist who paints with emotions and imagination, creating abstract watercolour landscapes that tell stories beyond what the eye can see. My art captures the essence of nature not as it appears, but as it feels—serene yet complex, beautiful yet raw.

I call my works poetic landscapes because they’re not just paintings; they’re reflections of life’s contrasts.

When I’m not painting, you’ll find me exploring whimsical ideas, jotting down reflections, or dreaming up new ways to connect art with emotion. Through my work, I hope to inspire curiosity and introspection, inviting you to pause, reflect, and find a piece of yourself in my abstract, poetic worlds.

Artist Statement

My art is a journey—a quiet exploration of imagined landscapes where reality and dreams meet. Each painting invites you to step closer, to pause and reflect, and to find your own story within the layers of colour and texture.

Working with delicate watercolours, I create abstract landscapes that are not about what we see with our eyes but what we feel in our hearts. These works capture the essence of nature as it resonates within me—serene, expressive, and deeply emotional.

Every piece is shaped by techniques that feel as meditative as they are creative—wet-in-wet washes, card swipes, scraping, and dry brushing. Together, they form scenes that appear tranquil and Zen-like from afar but reveal an edge of chaos and unpredictability up close. This contrast reflects the harmony and tension I find in both nature and life itself.

My inspiration often comes from fleeting memories or rare glimpses of beauty. I don’t paint the landscapes I’ve visited but the ones I long for—the vast terrains I’ve only dreamed of or seen in passing. These imagined worlds speak to something deeper: our human longing for connection, for peace, and for the unattainable.

Recently, I’ve returned to painting after a period of stepping away, finding it to be not just a creative act but a healing one. Picking up the brush again has helped me reconnect with myself, turning the process into a reflection of resilience and renewal.

Through my work, I hope to share these moments of discovery and emotion. My paintings are a space where tranquillity meets curiosity, where the natural world transforms into something personal and poetic.

I invite you to pause with me in these imagined landscapes, to reflect, to dream, and perhaps to see a part of your own story in the brushstrokes.
